The rumor mill is buzzing regarding The Clash. What seemed almost impossible after the death of singer Joe Strummer in 2002 is now set to become a reality. Mick Jones and Paul Simonon see their band as a mission that must continue. The role of Strummer is to be taken on by Rancid singer Tim Armstrong. He is already quite enthusiastic about his new role:
Before considering new studio recordings, a tour is to be organized first. For studio recordings, Armstrong would be the perfect man, as he has previously worked as a songwriter for Pink and Gwen Stefani. Additionally, he runs the record label Hellcat Records.
It’s a real honor, and I promise I will even get a mohawk, just like Joe did on the last reunion tour!
