EL BOSSO & DIE PING PONGS are back with their comeback album on PORK PIE - the first new song recordings since 1993!

Since their formation in 1985 in Münster, EL BOSSO & DIE PING PONGS have been among the earliest ska bands in the country and are considered the first to successfully combine German lyrics primarily with the then-current 2-Tone style. To this day, the group, led by founding members El Bosso, Skacus, and Prof. Richie senior a.k.a. Dr. Ring Ding, remains a leading force in the genre - and since 2003 (after their breakup in 1993), they have been a regular live act thrilling hundreds of euphoric concertgoers.

With "Tag Vor Dem Abend," the seasoned musicians are doing the only right thing: with 14 brand new songs, they don't even attempt to simply emulate their past party hit "Immer Nur Ska." Instead, they present an unexpectedly impressive kaleidoscope of genre-crossing pop music heavily influenced by ska and reggae. From the sexy grooving soul-pop stomper like "Tag Vor Dem Abend" to tracks spiced with various dub, dancehall, or drum'n bass beats like "Schön," "Was Passiert Mit Mir," or "Verlieb Dich," to more guitar-based songs like their single "Mädchenmusik" or the lyrically outstanding "Metallica," which even features a tribute from POHLMANN.

But what would all this be without the thoughtful, witty lyrics that brilliantly bridge the classic El-Bosso humor with a more mature perspective on the world? Tag vor dem Abend is much more than just a good German-language ska album. A legend like EL BOSSO & DIE PING PONGS couldn't stage their triumphant return any better. The CD with 14 songs has nearly an hour of playtime and comes in a digipak with a color booklet. As an LP, "Tag Vor Dem Abend" is released in collaboration with Moskito/Grover on their legendary vinyl label V.O.R.

And this is what they mean:

- Henning Wehland (H-Blockx / Söhne Mannheims): "absolute live hammer", "Henning Wehland is a fan - Peace!"

- Hagen Liebing (former Die Ärzte, now TIP magazine): "legendary band with absolute cult classic "Immer nur Ska"

- Götz Alsmann: "if any ska band has managed to bring the off-beat into the teenage rooms, it’s El Bosso & die PIng Pongs"

- the youth magazine BRAVO (1990): "when the eight guys let loose, the pieces fly on stage"
