On October 21, 2011, the new COLLAPSE UNDER THE EMPIRE album was released
“Shoulders & Giants.”
About the new album “Shoulders & Giants”: In 10 tracks, “Shoulders & Giants” explores multiple emotional worlds. It is a conceptual work in two parts that thematically deals with human existence, the dream of escaping, a life in absolute freedom, isolation, and death. One feels as if on a trip through icy mountainous landscapes with not the slightest sign of human creation. The first album “Shoulders & Giants” presents itself as dark yet equally hopeful, calming and invigorating, frightening and flattering, subtle and brutal, loud and quiet, speechless and expressive, monotonous and varied.
With the conceptual two-parter “Shoulders & Giants” / “Sacrifice & Isolation,” Collapse Under The Empire embarks on their most ambitious work to date.
Bio: Chris Burda and Martin Grimm from Hamburg founded the instrumental music project Collapse Under The Empire. In no time, international magazines such as Q-Magazine, Rocksound, or Clash took notice of the band and expressed their enthusiasm for the cinematic sound of their first two albums. Earlier this year, they were featured on the legendary Emo Diaries Compilation from the US label Deep Elm. Furthermore, they composed the soundtrack for the short film “Sharks don’t Cry” for Sharkproject, an organization fighting at the forefront against the extinction of sharks.
After their psychedelic mini-album “The Sirens Sound” released last year and the split EP “Black Moon Empire” with the Russian band Mooncake, Collapse Under The Empire will release the first part of the double album “Shoulders & Giants” on October 21, 2011, which will be released in Europe via Sister Jack/ Cargo Records. The second part “Sacrifice & Isolation” will be released a year later.
