On November 4th, the artist collective We Invented Paris (Indie Pop, CH/DE) will release its self-titled debut album on the band's own label Spectacular Spectacular, in cooperation with Motor Entertainment and distributed by Rough Trade. At the live dates of the Tour d'Ouverture (October 7th to November 6th), the album will already be available before the official release date. It contains 13 finely arranged songs that Flavian Graber, the initiator of the "project" We Invented Paris, recorded independently in mid-2010. Since then, he has been tirelessly traveling through Europe with friends to "reinvent" his ever-growing repertoire in changing line-ups. We Invented Paris has already played 70 shows in more than 50 cities, including very special concerts on houseboats, rooftops, and living room floors, as well as support shows for Kettcar, Octoberman, and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. The Paris inventors will surprise again on this tour, following "Couchsurfing" (Tour 1) and "Speedgigs" (Tour 2), as evidenced by their pre-listening action "Amuse-Oreille": On the tour start on October 6th, the album will be listened to in full length together at 50 different locations as a small and intimate "world premiere."

We Invented Paris is a European artist collective - a union of friends who "reinvent" their finely arranged indie pop songs in changing line-ups. The band has only existed since mid-2010, which may be surprising given their extensive concert history: We Invented Paris has already played over 70 shows in more than 50 cities, including support shows for Kettcar, Octoberman, and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
The "small big project" unites not only musicians but also creative minds outside the circle of fifths in a family. From the website to merchandising to stage design, the collective implements everything independently, so it is hardly surprising that the band releases its recordings on its own label "Spectacular Spectacular." The band also organizes its tours itself, traveling through living rooms, houseboats, adventurous backyards, and scene cafés all over Europe via "Couchsurfing."
In terms of sound, We Invented Paris mixes traditional instruments with electronic elements. Live, they transform emotional songs into danceable artifacts. "Melancholic joy of life" – this paradoxical combination probably describes the band's aura most accurately. This was also found by the creators of TV Noir, who invited the Paris inventors along with Klee to their popular songwriter living room in Berlin.
In October, We Invented Paris will once again get into the tour bus and embark on a four-week "Tour d'Ouverture." With them: the debut album, which will only be available for purchase there in advance before it officially hits the market on November 4th in cooperation with Motor Entertainment and distributed by Rough Trade.
