THE CRYSTAL CARAVAN - Tour from 29.01.2011 to 12.02.2011
It is well known that Scandinavians are ahead in everything that is rock, and while established rock giants like The (International) Noise Conspiracy or The Hives are playing their game of musical chairs around the rock Olympus, a very vibrant scene is waiting with new heroes, including the 7-man army THE CRYSTAL CARAVAN from the quaint university town of Umeå on the edge of the Arctic Circle. Whether it’s the endless polar nights, which are perfect for endless jam sessions, or the overpriced spirits that contribute to these guys and their percussion girl’s unrestrained energy and joy of playing, we may never know. One thing is clear, though: true masters are at work here. Their two breathless albums and numerous shows in front of an invariably enthusiastic audience have proven this. Indeed, the band has managed like few others to gain so many loyal fans in the relatively short time of their existence. Their 60s high-energy rock, which pays tribute equally to Led Zep and The Who, is by no means easy listening, subject to the fleeting trends of modernity, nor is it a pompous fireworks of vanity that would make one blush.
It is.... honest! Anyone who has experienced the guys live will know what this means. THE CRYSTAL CARAVAN come alive on stage. Each of the 7 Scandinavians gives their all, and it never feels overloaded; no, it is a delicate structure that shoots straight to the heart through the ear canals, making one forget everything around them until they find themselves wildly wriggling in front of the stage....
