The BOOTBOOHOOK Festival, which was supposed to feature MAXIMO PARK, BLACK REBEL MOTOR CYCLE CLUB, TWO GALLANTS, and THE THERMALS in mid-July in Hanover, has officially been canceled today. Below is the press release from the organizers:
The BootBooHook Festival 2013, which was scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday, July 12 to 14, in Kronsbergpark Hanover, is canceled. The reason for the cancellation is the ticket sales, which fell far short of the organizers' expectations.
“With the current ticket sales development, we will not be able to successfully carry out the festival,” explained Heiko Heybey, managing director of BootBooHook GmbH.Tickets that have already been purchased can be returned to the sales points where they were bought. The end of the festival also means the demise of BootBooHook GmbH, which will file for bankruptcy today.
Just last year, the BootBooHook Festival moved from the Faustgelände Hanover-Linden to Kronsbergpark. The site was evidently not accepted by visitors. There was already a significant decline in attendance numbers in 2012.
This year, the participants hoped for a turnaround with improvements and a stronger program. Among others, well-known bands such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Maximo Park, Frittenbude, The Thermals, Laing, and Lukas Graham were booked for 2013.
The organizers deeply regret this necessary step and would like to thank all friends, partners, and fans for the last five wonderful years.
Best regards,
Heiko Heybey (Managing Director)
