A new music download platform is set to launch in the fall. The difference from the countless offerings available today lies in the type of music provided. It will feature only titles from independent labels, focusing on punk, metal, hardcore, and ska. Users can download individual songs for 69 to 89 cents per 2 - 5 minute track, as well as complete albums, which will cost a maximum of 8.99 euros. Free samples will allow users to decide in advance whether the download is worth it. Well-known labels such as Wolverine, Plastic Bomb, Hulk, Mad Butcher, X-Mist, and Kamikaze have already confirmed their participation.
The songs will be offered in Ogg Vorbis format. This format does not include copy protection, allowing them to be copied at any time within legal limits. The site http://oggstar.com/ is currently without content, but further information can be requested via email at info@oggstar.com.
