As is common at many festivals, many visitors arrive on Monday in Wacken and spend the entire week there. However, this year, due to heavy rain, the grounds will not be ready before Tuesday, so we urgently ask you not to arrive before Tuesday (31.07.2012).
The announcement from wacken.com:
Dear Metalheads,
Due to the current weather situation (partially over 50 liters/m² of rain per hour), we have an urgent message for you:
Early arrival is not possible due to the rain before Tuesday, July 31 - This applies also to those arriving without a car. If possible, use train and bus for a comfortable and safe arrival.
To ensure a smooth festival experience for us, but ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, we urgently need your cooperation.
The grounds are currently completely soaked, and it is NOT possible to drive vehicles on them. Unfortunately, more rain is also forecasted for the weekend.
To enable camping by vehicles and to provide you with the best possible camping areas, the entire team is working hard on drainage to prepare the grounds as best as possible for you. The weather forecast for the festival period is better, but every day counts to allow the grounds to dry out so that they can withstand the festival time, which is, of course, in all our interests. This means that the camping areas must be allowed to dry out peacefully for as long as possible and should not be driven on or entered!
Use the attractive travel offers with train and bus for your arrival – more information on our arrival portal.
We hope and urgently ask for your cooperation and are confident that you will be understanding and support us in making the W:O:A the coolest metal party of the year again. Otherwise, it may happen that we have to separate camping and parking.
All workers currently setting up the W:O:A are still in good spirits and look forward to welcoming you from Wednesday when it will once again be:
Faster:Harder:Louder – See you in Wacken Metalheads – Rain or Shine!!!
