The Gothic scene is always burdened by the stigma of not necessarily distancing itself from right-wing ideologies. How much brown tries to establish itself in the black environment is evident in the large-scale Independent Ruhr Festival. The centerpiece of this grand event was supposed to be over fifty concerts by various bands. Thanks to the internet, it has now leaked that a known Nazi is behind the organization of the whole thing.
After some back and forth, the imprint of the festival's homepage has now been adjusted, one band after another is dropping out, and even the venue, the Sound Music Hall in Essen is publicly distancing itself from the festival. Mr. Braun, however, is still not giving up and is looking for new black bands that are unconcerned about the political background and would also like to be placed on a similarly black list of groups to be avoided in the future.
