From September 22 to 26, 2004, the first international Punk! Congress will take place in Kassel. The venue is the ING School in the city center. The event is presented by Ox Fanzine, supported by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes. The central idea of the congress is to bring together actors, protagonists, scholars, and authors from various countries in one place. There, discussions will be held about the origins, feeling of life, societal relevance, artistic and economic explosive power of punk yesterday, today, and in the future. The panels will be complemented by lectures, readings, films (significant, current, and obscure films, as well as a Super-8 special with a lecture), an exhibition (press clippings from all over the world on the topic "From Punk to Pop"), and a small fair.
