The far-right scene is running out of records. Around 50,000 of them were seized during a large-scale raid across the country. 224 apartments and business premises of 204 suspects were searched, and in addition to the music discs, 170 computers and about 70 weapons were confiscated, although there were no arrests. The suspects came under the scrutiny of the authorities seemingly due to the recordings on the hard drives of a confiscated web server, which hosted the national eBay knockoff "Unser Auktionshaus." Accordingly, all members and customers of far-right forums and shops should prepare for a visit from the police, as in the past, after a hack of the database, member data even appeared in public file-sharing platforms.
In the coming weeks, the BKA will be inundated with the confiscated CDs to extract unconstitutional passages. In serious cases, further investigations and charges are expected to follow. One can only hope that the constant exposure does not lead to a rightward shift among the investigators. After all, it is an open secret that music is often used to convince weak minds of one's own ideology.
