The songs on “What’s Left Now?” show the band more mature than ever before: powerful, urgent, melancholic, full of rage, and damn inviting for headbanging. The album recalls the crashing riffs of Drug Church, the wiry energy of Viagra Boys, and the spirited social critique of IDLES, while maintaining a delivery and perspective that is uniquely Death Lens.
On March 26, 2026, “Debt Collector” was released, the furious finale of the album. A justified, angry punk banger about “the enslavement of society and the fact that you just have to pay, pay, pay,” as frontman Bryan Torres complains. “And there really is no way out.”

The new album is the result of two turbulent years for Death Lens, both on a personal level and as bandmates. After the release of “Cold World,” the band toured for nine long months, honing their live qualities and multiplying their fanbase. However, the long time on the road tested the band as an interpersonal unit, and as a result of these growing pains, Death Lens ultimately lost two members. In the end, they returned stronger than ever and reinforced the core lineup with frontman Bryan Torres, guitarist Jhon Reyes, and drummer Tony Rangel by adding guitar virtuoso Ernie Gutierrez. Today, Death Lens are closer as friends and more musically in sync than ever before.
With influences from indie rock, hardcore, old-school punk, and modern post-punk that have merged into Death Lens’ own signature style, “What’s Left Now?” was produced by Zach Tuch (Knocked Loose, Touché Amoré, Movements). He understood exactly how the band wanted to sound on this LP: powerful and rebellious like their live shows, but with enough dynamic range to emphasize their matured nuances.
“Tuch is straightforward to work with, but he is also brutally honest, which I appreciate,” says Torres with a smile. “I like honest people. If you’re honest with me, I’ll be honest with you.” Since they are just regular guys, Death Lens have no solution for the world’s problems. The cover artwork for “What’s Left Now?” is an artistic exaggeration of their own harsh reality: it shows the band coming home defeated and exhausted after a hard day’s work, with hardly anything to show for it, just like most other working people. Death Lens may not have the answers, but they know one thing: making music, expressing themselves, and giving their fans the opportunity to find a community in their songs is worth all the sweat, stress, and side jobs they take on outside of touring.
“Sometimes it doesn’t feel right to have fun making music on tour while everyone else is going through a terrible time, getting deported and all that shit,” says Reyes. “Death Lens is a reminder that you can still have a good time while building a connection with those who are right in the middle of it.”
This dichotomy is captured on “What’s Left Now?” with creativity and sincerity. It is a punk rock outburst to empathize with and at the same time a harsh dose of reality. Because for Death Lens, one does not exist without the other.
