With "Weißt du noch", his second single this year, ULI SAILOR announces his debut album "Besser anders". It was produced by Tobias Röger (Slime, Kapelle Petra, Udo Lindenberg) and will be released on February 27, 2026.
In "Weißt du noch", Uli sings to melancholic yet powerful piano pop, which comes with indie rock and a touch of punk attitude, about lost ideals and a time when disruption calls everything familiar into question – aiming to inspire courage when everything seems lost. "Weißt du noch" believes in change, especially when it seems furthest away.
The album "Besser anders" brings together ten edgy piano punk rock tracks and features guest appearances from members of DONOTS, BEATSTEAKS, GUTS PIE EARSHOT, and KOTZREIZ. Starting from March 5, 2026, Uli Sailor will go on tour with the album.

After over 30 years on stages ranging from punk cellars to festival main stages, Uli Sailor is now releasing his first piano solo album. "Besser Anders" is the result of two years of intense work – ten songs full of energy, melancholy, and attitude. The album was produced half in Berlin by Thies Neu and half in Cologne by Tobias Röger.
Musically, Uli bridges the gap between indie rock and punk, while staying far away from watered-down pop. Piano, cello, and vocals meet edgy arrangements and lyrics that lie somewhere between daydream and bone factory – poetic, angry, reflective. Themes like gentrification, digital alienation, and unwavering love for punk run throughout the entire work.
"Besser Anders" is an album against interchangeability. No AI product, no routine – but handcrafted, sweat, and passion. Uli shows that punk rock can also work with piano keys, as long as you bring the right balance of anger, humor, and tenderness.
Patrick Reerink (GUTS PIE EARSHOT) provides the cello parts on the album. "Kiezblock" is created together with Chris Kotze (KOTZREIZ), supported by Totze Trippi (BEATSTEAKS) on bass and a choir of friends – including Dead End Kids, Berlin Blackouts, Von.Orten, and Töff Malstroem. In "Der demagogische Wandel", Guido Donot (DONOTS) picks up the guitar and delivers a memorable solo. This makes “Besser Anders” more than just a solitary solo project, but a collective statement with attitude.
