When music suddenly appears, doesn’t ask for permission, and then sweeps over you with swagger, sweat, and soul – that’s rare. And damn special. Michael Monroe, eternal rock ’n’ roll frontman with glam genes and a punk past, delivers just that with his upcoming studio album “Outerstellar”.
The first single “Rockin’ Horse” is already out – along with a must-see video:

The whole thing was shot by Leigh Brooks, who stages Monroe in a fictional TV breakfast format – including an unusual revelation: Monroe without makeup for the first time. No masquerade, no filter, just pure joy of playing and a strong song.
“‘Rockin’ Horse’ is a cool rock song for which we shot a really fun video,” says Monroe. “I play the host of a morning show – and all without makeup. Great fun, good times. I hope you like it!” And the genre? Forget it. Anyone who wants to pigeonhole Monroe has never understood rock ’n’ roll. His music smells of leather and freedom, is infused with attitude, but never arrogant, always filled with the pure joy of playing. Rock with attitude, heart, and a touch of chaos. Or, to put it in an image: harmonies in silk scarves lounging on worn-out sofas while outside it’s already morning again.
“Outerstellar” is not a nostalgic farewell – it’s a departure. With thundering guitars, scratchy harmonica, beautiful acoustic moments – and songs that make you dance, scream, sing, and simply forget everything. Exactly what rock in its purest form should always be: an outbreak, a rush, a damn liberation.
