This is how the invitation begins, which opens Alkaline Trio's sparkling new single "Bleeding Out." "Bleeding Out" is another prime example of the trio's treacherous blend of melodic sweetness and lyrical darkness, carried by an unrelenting rhythmic backbone that repeatedly culminates in one of the band's unmistakable sing-along choruses – so be prepared to have this song stuck in your head for days.
"Bleeding Out" follows the recently released hit "Oblivion" - as the second of three songs that Alkaline Trio recorded with drummer/producer Travis Barker from Blink 182 - the first studio recordings made in the current trio lineup featuring founding member and guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, longtime bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano, and drummer Atom Willard.

Travis Barker said about the recordings: "Collaborating with Alkaline Trio was a true pleasure. It was so exciting to bring these songs to life based on Matt's demo recordings. Both Matt and Dan are incredible lyricists, two of my absolute favorite artists. The studio never feels like work, just a magical place to create. The process was so natural and easy, I could have kept going forever. I am really proud of the songs that I, Matt, Dan, and Atom recorded. I look forward to everything that is coming for Alkaline Trio and to the fans being able to hear these special songs we made."
Matt Skiba: "The release of the new songs we recorded with Travis Barker and Adam Hawkins is happening almost in real-time as we record. We are releasing them in the order we recorded them, which I believe reflects the excitement and energy we felt in the studio while writing and recording. "Bleeding Out" has an energy and spontaneity that captures the atmosphere in the studio quite accurately. I am very excited to share this song with our fellow humans on Earth. You can sing and dance to it, and at the same time, it is sadly a song of our time."
Dan Andriano explains: "I am very proud to announce our next release in this three-single series: 'Bleeding Out.'" Matt's demo really did most of the work because we could immediately see what kind of song it would become, and we just started dancing along. Travis had great ideas for the instrumentation and the harmonies right away, the "candies," if you will. And I think the organic way it came together really shows in the fun and danceable flow of the song."
Atom Willard adds: "'Bleeding Out' is by far one of the most fun songs I've ever recorded… I got to do all sorts of cool things during it, and I am honestly just so proud of how it turned out. Matt and Travis both had some brilliant ideas that made it into the post-choruses and the outro. Super fun to make, super fun to play."
