Following the release of their new album "The Father of Make Believe" in the spring, the New York band Coheed and Cambria presents the Endless Summer version of the single "Goodbye, Sunshine," featuring support from Nick Hexum (311).

The new version is not a remix of the popular song from "The Father of Make Believe," but was written from scratch and exudes tropical flair. The song was co-produced by King Tubby protégé and dub legend The Scientist, who contributed brass instruments, percussion, and keyboards, giving the track a fresh boost. Zakk Cervini and Julian Gargiulo took on additional production tasks as well as mixing and mastering the track.
In addition to the Endless Summer version of "Goodbye, Sunshine," Coheed and Cambria presents the new music video directed by Josh Forbes, who also directed the band's 2010 video "Here We Are Juggernaut" and features a slapstick parody of the tropical party life of the 1980s. Regarding the music video, Sanchez says: "It plays with the concept of alternate realities that we have already explored in our earlier videos for our new album 'The Father of Make Believe,' and is also a tribute to one of our earliest videos, 'A Favor House Atlantic,' which is partially inspired by the Harold Ramis comedy 'Club Paradise' from 1986."
Coheed and Cambria have just kicked off their summer co-headlining tour in America with Taking Back Sunday and support from Foxing, after touring arenas with Mastodon in May and June.
In October of this year, the band will perform three concerts in Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne. The most interesting tour dates for us are as follows:

"The Father of Make Believe" is the monumental tenth studio album of the band and includes, in addition to the aforementioned "Goodbye, Sunshine," also "Blind Side Sonny," "Searching For Tomorrow," and "Someone Who Can." "The Father of Make Believe" explores new sonic terrain amidst wailing guitars, drums that pop like fireworks, and the painful, powerful voice of singer and lead guitarist Claudio Sanchez, guiding us through calm and turbulent moments. Narratively, The Father of Make Believe continues the story of the Amory Wars / Vaxis universe, which began with Coheed and Cambria's album Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind from 2022. But where the album truly breaks new ground is in how Sanchez takes on the role of the main character. He has often used epic lyrics to obscure the stories he wanted to tell: reflections on an addicted father, memories of his beloved grandfather, worries about raising a child in a cruel world, hopes and fears surrounding the love of his life. This time, he writes more directly about his life and particularly about his unusual career. Sanchez is the father of fantasy, looking down on the world he has created.
Over the past 20 years, Coheed and Cambria have continually pushed the boundaries of what a rock band can be, forging their own path and creating a universe around their music that is unparalleled.
