The hardcore institution DRAIN from Santa Cruz has released "Who’s Having Fun?" from their upcoming new album "…IS YOUR FRIEND", which will be released on November 7 via Epitaph. On "Who’s Having Fun?", Sammy Ciaramitaro sings, accompanied by plenty of shredding, which ultimately culminates in Ciaramitaro's signature growls. The new song will also be available as a limited edition on 7’' vinyl through Flatspot.

Ciaramitaro explains:
"‘Who's Having Fun?’ is summer music that was written to be played loudly in a car with friends on a beautiful sunny day with the windows down. This happens when you just write music that makes you happy and don’t care about fitting into a box or meeting other people's genre criteria. DRAIN will always do what we want. This was the first song we wrote for this album – at first, it was a pretty straightforward punk rock song, but we kept adding little details and effects, and suddenly we had a hard-hitting song that really embodies everything DRAIN is about. This song can be about anything you want – but I think if you’re looking for the truth in life, a good rule of thumb is to ask yourself: Who's Having Fun? Hopefully, it’s you."
For the accompanying video directed by Ryan Baxley (Green Day, FIDLAR), the band, known for their love of nature, settled in the woods, in front of an incredibly beautiful seascape with passing clouds, and on a Vespa.
ABOUT DRAIN
DRAIN – frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro, guitarist Cody Chavez, and drummer Tim Flegal – was formed in 2014 and gained early experience in the fertile DIY hardcore scene of Santa Cruz. The COVID lockdown could not prevent their debut album "California Cursed" from 2020 from making waves, and the follow-up "LIVING PROOF" from 2023 also hit the hardcore scene with full force. Since then, DRAIN has played hundreds of shows worldwide: they have headlined festivals, taken their friends and heroes on tour, and even played with Blink-182 in arenas. Whether they are opening for pop-punk jukeboxes like Neck Deep or taking over the stage dive torch from Terror, DRAIN's only goal is to make the audience go wild.
