"Blister In The Sun" will be featured on the upcoming deluxe edition of the critically acclaimed debut album of the band, "My Apologies To The Chef." The album will be digitally released on September 5 and is now available for pre-order as a limited double LP edition. The expanded edition includes acoustic versions of all songs from the original album as well as their cover of "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys and the recently released track "(Don’t Get) CLOSE."
Frontwoman and multi-instrumentalist Coco Kinnon says about the new cover: "The inspiration for the cover of 'Blister In The Sun' came when we were talking about recording an acoustic version of our album. We love honoring those who have paved the way for us in everything we do, so it felt only natural for us to pay tribute to the folk-punk legends themselves, Violent Femmes. We are really excited about this cover, and the approval from the band themselves has made us even prouder and more thrilled."
Winona Fighter recently completed their multi-part "Yes, Chef Tour," which was the band's first headlining tour in the UK, included a performance at the Slam Dunk Music Festival, and three US tours with sold-out shows in New York City, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver, and Kansas City. Additionally, the band has just announced that they will return to New York City for a special unplugged concert at the Silver Lining Lounge on September 3.
