An anthem against regulated wage labor – The Firm is the third single from The Extras and a precursor to their upcoming album Closer (release on July 25, 2025, via Rookie Records).
Raw, direct, uncompromising. No chances for advancement, no say in the matter – just a termination letter with guitars. Musically, there’s a demolition vibe: no frills, no compromises. Blasting drums, scratching guitars – The Extras focus on maximum clarity. Elmar Freels' voice doesn’t flatter; it hits.
Produced by master Paul Grau – with the stoic consistency of a man who refuses to smooth anything over. Melody is present – but without embrace. No hand-holding, no retreat.
The chorus becomes a mantra:
Again and again / I’m never ever gonna be a part of your plan!
Punk in its purest form: angry, concise, unyielding – and funny.
The artwork – smoke break instead of branding aesthetics. Visually, The Extras also stick to what they do best: showing attitude without explaining.
The Firm stands in the tradition of Sex Pistols or The Clash – but without nostalgia. The Extras do not look back; they step forward. More like a reminder that some things are far from over.
Extra Special Guest: In the music video, the king of pranksters, Simon Gosejohann – known from Comedy Street – plays a chauffeur who has to endure the band. What starts as a routine service drive ends somewhere between protest, breakdown, and punk farce. Gosejohann himself used to perform in punk and hardcore bands.
