ALARMSIGNAL make another emotional statement: Today, "Scherbe / Licht" is released as the third single from their new album "Insomnia," which will be released on January 17, 2025, via Aggressive Punk Produktionen (Edel / Kontor New Media). Following the powerful precursors "Deutsch mich nicht voll!" and "Rest Your Eyes," the band now strikes deeply touching notes.
The new single is an open and honest confrontation with self-doubt, inner struggles, and the hope that shines even in the darkest moments. ALARMSIGNAL describe the song as "a three-minute therapy session" and reflect on the strength found in letting go and accepting weaknesses. In their statement about the single, the band explains: "‘Scherbe / Licht’ is a very personal, emotional song. An open and honest self-reflection, an admission. Full of despondency, self-doubt, and hopelessness, but still with the comforting realization that even the broken shards within us can reflect light and that hope remains as long as even one of them does just that.”
The upcoming album, the band's ninth studio album, is characterized by intense stories and compelling music. It was created during a creative retreat and was written and recorded in various locations. Songs like "Rest Your Eyes" (feat. Sebastian Madsen) or "Johanna" are among the most emotional works the band has ever released. In addition to profound and experimental tracks, the album also expresses political stances, such as with "Manifest" (feat. Beckx of F*cking Angry) and "Kein Vaterland" (feat. Sarah Lesch).
Regarding the central message of the album, singer and bassist Steff says: "On a political and social level, many things rob us of sleep: stupidity, ignorance, selfishness, hatred, and the backwardness of humanity. Instead of learning from the past, Europe is moving further to the right. This societal reality flows into our music.”
