Q: Congratulations on the new album “Lovesteady“. Why does your thirteenth album have this distinctive title?
LF: We are currently living in a crazy world. There is so much hate everywhere.
We believe that music should convey something positive.
We love Rocksteady and have infused a bit of love into that word.
That became “Lovesteady,” which we think is a very good title for the album.
Q: The songs on the new album include many different styles. What was the main idea when you made the album?
LF: Our music has always included many styles. Styles that come from the street.
Our songs encompass the music styles we love.
We want to represent what has shaped us, what makes LOS FASTIDIOS, in our music.
We don’t want to create anything new, but rather show the younger generation who we are and where we come from.
For us, it is really important to keep all these music genres, which form the soundtrack to the subcultures we love, alive and current.
In our music, you can feel influences of Streetpunk, 2Tone, Rocksteady, Reggae, Rock'n'Roll, and Brit-Pop.
Q: In the song “True Rebel” from the new album “Lovesteady,” you sing about a revolution. Do you think that in these times a change... a revolution... towards more humanity, more human rights, and a better treatment of the animal world is possible?
LF: We must always follow our dreams.
Without our dreams, we are nothing.
We know that for many people a real, comprehensive revolution is a utopia.
But we also know that sometimes dreams come true.
Our hope does not die.
Let us be eternal dreamers!
Q: Right-wing parties make life difficult for us in many places.
How do you manage to always be full of hope and in a good mood on stage?
LF: We place great hope in the younger generation.
Young people are our future. We believe many of them are growing up with a very open worldview and they notice what is happening around them. We think they will be more open than previous generations.
The system and the development of societies are currently going in a terrible direction. We are sure that the younger generation will stand up against that and can challenge those who behave like the kings of the world. The younger generation will make life difficult for these people.
In one of our old songs, it says: "We count on you, new generations of rebels" and in our new song “You’re so young” from our current album “Lovesteady,” it says: "You are so young, but you are wiser than most people around you."
Our hope for the new generations will never die.
Q: Sometimes I feel that the younger generation has forgotten what real life is like and prefers to lose themselves in social networks or online games.
LF: We play all over Europe. Everywhere we meet many young people.
They give us so much positive energy. These young people know real life. They know what they want and many know what they want to change in this world.
Q: What do you think we can do to protect ourselves from right-wing populism?
LF: Every time we are on stage, we say we must stand together. The system wants to divide us.
The system is not built on solidarity and togetherness, but on selfishness.
We must look out for each other and not let wedges be driven between us.
We must overcome every barrier, every border, every gender difference, every flag, all social classes, and remain united. We must never forget that we are the people. The same people from the West to the East of the world. United we are a strength and only united can we do something good.
We must build a real, better world together.
We must build bridges, not walls, and not get lost in stupid virtual fights.
Q: You have been committed to animal rights for a long time.
You, Enrico (Note from the editor: singer of LOS FASTIDIOS) are a vegan.
I often feel that nature conservation and animal protection are not as strongly focused on as the protection of human rights. How do you see that?
LF: We cannot fight for human rights and forget about animals and our environment.
I think if there were more respect for our nature, for the animal world in this world, it would also lead to an improvement in the situation of all people. It would be better for the earth, it would be better for us.
People still have so much to learn...
But we want to remain optimistic. We see that little by little, year by year, things are getting better. The situation of animals, the animal world is increasingly coming into focus. This will only be the beginning. In the future, there will be more respect for the lives of humans and animals. It is simply about the lives of all creatures.
Q: In September 2025, you will be touring the USA. There are some bands that currently do not want to play in the USA due to the right-wing government and Donald Trump.
Many bands also have concerns that they will be prevented from entering at the border.
Why are you touring in the USA?
LF: We care about the people, not the governments.
We know that there are people everywhere in the world, like you and me.
People who share the same values, who fight for the same things.
Wherever we play, we play for these people. We want to encourage people with our music. We want to promote togetherness and solidarity with our music. We want to inspire people and have fun with them. We want to enjoy a nice evening with them.
Music helps everyone not to feel alone, wherever we are in the world. Music is power. Music is life. Music connects people.
As musicians, it is important for us to bring our music everywhere to bring people together!
We know that there are many people in the USA who are looking forward to seeing us. If we are allowed to enter, then the concerts, our time in the USA will be great.
Q: Since 1991, you have been more or less constantly on the road, always on tour.
Don’t you sometimes get tired of this exhausting life and the many thousands of kilometers per year in the tour bus?
LF: The passion and the positive energy, yes the love, that we receive from the audience at every concert make us forget the fatigue and the more than 90,000 kilometers per year on the road.
Our fans are our strength.

Q: Even after long journeys, you stand on stage full of energy and passion.
How do you manage that? What is your secret recipe?
LF: We have no secret recipe!
When you do something with your heart, with passion, with love... then it just comes naturally.
Q: You have played in so many clubs in Europe. Surely there are a few favorite clubs that you have, right?
LF: We love all clubs, especially the small clubs.
In the small clubs, we feel more passion. We feel more the energy that comes from the audience. You can look everyone in the eye. We can sing together and just have a great time together.
