There are still good things out there.
The slogan of a department store for nerds and the wealthy can also apply without reservation to the band NO TRIGGER.
Man, when was the last time I heard this sound from an unknown band? It must have been years ago. I feel at least 10 years younger right away.
NO TRIGGER from the U.S. state of Massachusetts has been around since 2001. Shortly after their formation, they were considered one of the best bands in the USA without a record deal. This is completely incomprehensible to me, but I also don't know their old releases.
However, when I listen to this EP, I do wonder why this band isn't on Fat Wreck Chords or labels of similar caliber.
NO TRIGGER plays this awesome melodic hardcore or melodic punk rock that used to be sung along with from every throat. Great riffs, sing-along parts, and a voice that reminds me of old stuff from NoFx or Lagwagon. Perfect for pogoing, moshing... simply for going wild and having fun.
But NO TRIGGER is by no means a fun band. They clearly state on this EP with their five songs what they think of fascists and party drugs. The cover of the
EP is probably the result of a good time the band had.
Five songs that push forward massively and celebrate the good old melodic hardcore like I haven't heard in a long time.
Everything here is truly on point. Fucking cool shit!
And who even makes an EP today? On CD!
An album is in the pipeline.
