Today, one year ago, the summer album 2019 => 100 KILO HERZ with Far Away from Home
12 months later, the summer album 2020 => 100 KILO HERZ with City Country Flight !!!!
With City Country Flight, I again have to think of summer, palm trees, and sunshine (just like with Far Away from Home), this punchy punk rock supported by saxophone and trumpet seduces you to do so. Only this time, in 2020 vs. 2019, the fucking Corona virus is also lurking in the background and has unfortunately ruined the festival summer.
The fact is, 100 KILO HERZ are blasting away with their new 12 songs again, although there is also a ballad "Dreams (Reprise)" and mid-tempo songs. Basically, the lyrics are again classically related to everyday problems including racism and excessive alcohol consumption (and everyone wants to be happy)! And after the first 38-minute run, you can already sing along at some points during the second run, and by now (after what feels like the 20th run) I can (almost) recite the whole album by heart. City Country Flight is just on constant rotation in my car (and rightly so), where I can sing along particularly loudly ;-).
100 KILO HERZ must also have a big heart for …BUT ALIVE or Marcus Wiebusch, which I can absolutely understand, after all, both names appear in their 12 songs....
However, Gütersloh is also mentioned, which is almost around the corner for me (and whoever knows where Gütersloh is, also knows that I come from the countryside, right in the middle of Germany and yet so far away from the action ;-).
So now off to the city, buy the CD, LP, or the corresponding boxes there and back to the countryside, but don’t forget to pay for it, otherwise it’s flight through the alleys of XXX.
And why not stream or download??? Because then you don’t have the 16-page booklet!
