"Germany, You Miserable Piece of Shit" is the title of the first single taken from the fourth album "Who Wants That" by "Drive By Shooting", "Die Berliner Strolche", "Drei Bier Später", or whatever "DxBxSx" stands for. While the entire album didn't quite resonate with me this summer, as you can see in my review here on RamTatTa, I find it significantly easier to connect with these 4 songs this autumn. This is largely due to the 3 friend bands of DxBxSx. The musical styles of FCKR, DŸSE, and EGOTRONIC range from minimal punk to electronic to noise, and all three cover that very song "Germany, You Miserable Piece of Shit" as they see fit. Plus the original by DxBxSx, who skillfully conclude this single, which is probably the best song from their fourth album, with their 11 ½ minutes of sound that combines SMOKE BLOW meets THE STOOGES.
Yes, I like the single, and it also gets an extra half point for being released on good old vinyl. :-)
