As it fittingly says on the KORA WINTER info page: "The lyrics depict a dark, anxiety-dominated, and paradoxical world.
KORA WINTER is the corresponding "scream-yourself-free therapy" - a flashlight at the beginning of the tunnel."
"Scream-yourself-free therapy", yes, I can only agree! With their post-hardcore, the 5 Berliners deliver a massive, hard sound storm that can definitely receive the rating "Excellent"... no, it must!!! I can hardly believe that the band has only been around for 2 years; the six songs are very well arranged, which is usually only achieved after at least 10 years of sweat and toil! And for those expecting the six songs to be hardcore-like and only 2-3 minutes long, they are mistaken. The debut E.P. runs over 30 minutes, meaning the songs are twice as long as one would expect, without showing even a hint of boredom. I like to try to categorize the "lesser-known" bands to compare them with "known" bands. Even if the bands often don't like to hear this because they want to perform autonomously. On the other hand, it can also be an honor.... And with KORA WINTER, the first band that came to my mind was SYSTEM OF A DOWN, and I think that's already a knightly accolade that one wouldn't refuse. Rightly so :-)
If I set aside the fact that unfortunately I don't have a booklet and lyric sheet, I found only one criticism of this awesome E.P.
And that is the volume of the vocals; right in the middle of the KORA WINTER sound storm, I can only guess the German lyrics. If I had the lyrics, it might look different, but as it is, it's unfortunately just a guessing game of the text....
