Once again, a vinyl record (!) from Portland - Oregon!!! As I mentioned in the (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS review, Portland is home to many independent and alternative bands. Nevertheless, it is astonishing that so much is currently coming from this West Coast state of the USA. Usually, records come more from California, the East Coast, or from a state around the Great Lakes.
Unfortunately, there isn't much to find about LOVESORES on the internet. Besides their Facebook page, where they actually write themselves as THE (again a reference to the (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS review), there is only their Bandcamp page. It's a pity, really, as I would have liked to learn more about the six-member band, which has been around as LOVESORES for only three years (at least that's what it says in the info sheet), because I enjoy their garage rock'n'roll. In any case, the six more mature guys have been performing on US stages for many years and will also come to Europe in spring 2015. That should be interesting, as there is nothing to complain about in terms of sound and melodies on their 5th E.P. or single. It moves forward nicely without having a V6 - V8 or V12 in the engine block.... it just goes straight ahead, with a very well-running 4-cylinder ;-)
However, it is a pity that this 10" vinyl record (with download code) only contains 4 songs of 2½ - 3 minutes each, so the fun is already over after 11 minutes. Way too short, what a shame :-(
And now one last time "What a shame" or "Unfortunately".... I unfortunately did not receive a booklet or text sheet to delve deeper into the lyrics, which, as usual, results in a point deduction :-(
