RamTatTa - (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS – bad lucky bady put the jinx on me

Holy Fuzzbox, what kind of awesome music is coming out of Portland - Oregon??? Portland - home to many independent and alternative bands like the WIPERS, POISON IDEA, and Courtney Love. And now Portland - Oregon (not Maine) has one more attraction: (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS. By the way, let’s write about the guys who live in the here and now - for whom there is no tomorrow, sometimes with THE and sometimes without. This THE is indeed an enhancement of the band name, just look at THE STROKES, THE WHITE STRIPES, and THE HIVES (etc. - the THE bands). All bands that popularized (90s) garage punk. And especially with the last-mentioned band THE HIVES, (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS show clear similarities. Add a hefty dose of THE CRAMPS and THE WHO. Here we are again with the THE, which simply MUST be in the band name!
In any case, the 14 two-minute songs hit you straightforward and unadorned. With few chords, screaming vocal harmonies, and distorted guitar sounds typical of garage punk, this (THE) NO TOMORROW BOYS record is simply a blast!
Speaking of records, the album is released on vinyl (bonus point) including an MP3 download code. After 26 minutes, unfortunately, it’s all over, but then you just flip the A-side and the turntable starts spinning again.
Awesome record! Fittingly, the album title is: "Bad Luck Baby Put The Jinx On Me". And lastly, I’m stealing a passage from the info sheet because it fits perfectly: "So guys, grab your leather jackets and slick your hair back with gel. For the girls, it’s time to put on the fishnets, slap on the eyeshadow, practice your fluttering eyelashes, and then push all the buttons into the red zone."
Unfortunately, I didn’t receive a booklet or lyrics sheet to dive deeper into the lyrics (point deduction) :-(
