With the simple title "Comet," (THE) BOUNCING SOULS are releasing their ninth studio album this summer since their founding in 1987. Just as simple is their melodic punk rock, which lies somewhere between GREEN DAY and SOCIAL DISTORTION; it's pleasant to listen to, but it doesn't showcase any specific extravagances throughout the 10 songs. (THE) BOUNCING SOULS thus ride the melodic punk rock wave for 34 minutes, which is the duration of "Comet," staying quite near the front without ever taking the top position or leading the charge.
Unfortunately, I don't have a booklet again, but according to the information sheet, the CD is supposed to be elaborately designed, and the LP (!) is to be available in an exquisite gatefold cover including a download code. Normally, I would deduct points for not having a booklet, as you never know what you're being served, but in this case, I'll let it slide.
For quiet moments when you want to unwind, "Comet" is just the right choice. However, for waking up or staying alert, (THE) BOUNCING SOULS is the wrong choice.
