How long have THE GENERATORS been around?
The band has been causing a stir for half an eternity and more, and the members were quite active even before the band's formation.
THE GENERATORS are one of those bands that you always read about somewhere and that insidiously etch themselves into your brain, so that you keep them in mind even when they don't send any signs of life from the United States to Europe for a longer period.
But now the time has come again, and THE GENERATORS are releasing a new EP titled “The Deconstruction of Dreams.” It is the band's twelfth release and includes four new songs as well as two live recordings, one of “Tyranny” and one of “Here I go.” The release is available as a CD and download, as well as a limited 12” in red vinyl.
The four new studio songs are, for the most part, exactly what you would expect from the band. It really moves forward. First, you’re tapping your foot, then nodding your head, and shortly after, your whole body is moving to the music.
It’s Kick Ass Rock, honest, with a hefty dose of Rock’n’Roll and Punk. The melodies are catchy (how could it be otherwise with this band?). It’s the kind of Kick Ass Rock that is cool and will always be cool.
It’s not the kind of Kick Ass Rock that has been played so excessively in recent years and thankfully is slowly becoming out of fashion again. In fact, it was never really in.
THE GENERATORS play the music they like, and coincidentally, it’s also the music I like. It’s fun to listen to the band. You don’t wildly mosh around the room, but you enjoy your after-work beer in good spirits and relax.
THE GENERATORS are simply in a class of their own. If I were a music teacher, I would play this record to my students and tell them that they need to sound exactly like this if they really plan to start a band.
Kudos to this EP and the songs. It’s great that THE GENERATORS never tire of celebrating their “Way of Life of Rock’n’Roll.”
So, now I’m opening my third beer and turning it up a little louder.
