Recently, I needed a non-fiction book for a seminar and found a familiar name Dr. Med. Eckard von Hirschhausen repeatedly on the bestseller lists of various book platforms (Stern, Spiegel, Amazon, Focus, Weltbild, etc.). Since I also know him from the medium of television, I got his current book “Where Does Love Go, When It Has Passed Through the Stomach?”. Even though the selling price initially deterred me, 14.99 euros is no small change, the book felt good in my hands, its texture was optimal. Already while quickly flipping through, I noticed the many little gimmicks, whether it was the postcard in the book, the detachable love letter, the pro and con love proof memos, etc.
In my bookshelf, I now had to open a new section next to the fiction category,
Self-help > Life Management > Happiness
such a thing didn’t exist in my collection before, and the paperback is indeed filled with a lot of humor, cheerfulness, and zest for life, which consequently made me happy as well. Additionally, the paperback is very entertaining, and I read through the 384 pages in just a few days. However, the many pictures and memos in the book helped reduce the pages to read by an estimated 50 pages. Furthermore, the pages themselves were also very clearly filled with words, or in other words, the surrounding margins are quite generously designed.
Nevertheless, the new book by Dr. E. Hirschhausen is truly worth reading and amusing. It also contains some contributions that I was already familiar with from TV. Moreover, I find the selling price too high, even though the book comes with small bonuses. 2 x point deduction!
P.S. For the seminar, I also borrowed another book, “So They Have Success”, it didn’t help much, but now I know some motivational quotes!
