It has been quite some time since FAR FROM FINISHED were on the road in Europe for what felt like two years, making a significant impact on the melody and skate punk scene. The band's sound was exactly what you needed for a cool evening. Powerful, melodic, and (in this context, the word is quite appropriate) catchy punk rock. Not too shallow and not too hard. Moreover, the band never stood still on stage but always gave it their all on the boards that mean the world. Especially singer Steve Neary always showed that he was wholeheartedly into it.
However, things had been quiet around the band lately.
So it's all the more delightful that the guys haven't disbanded. They just weren't in Europe, but that will change in 2013. Then the likable band will fly across the pond and delight us once again with their punk rock.
But FAR FROM FINISHED are not just coming to Europe to play their old songs; they will also present new songs.
There are four new songs on “Let´s be Frank“. This record will be released as a 7“ and impressively showcases what made the band so popular in Europe. It is a sound built on a lot of melody, pressure, and catchy arrangements. The four songs pick up exactly where I remembered the band. It's like turning the next page in a book you haven't read in a while and being immediately captivated by the story again.
FAR FROM FINISHED place themselves between NOFX and Pennywise. It's American punk, nothing groundbreaking new, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun!
Now it’s just a matter of being a little patient until March 8, 2013. Then this wonderful 7“ (which will probably also be released as a CD) will be available for purchase, and the band will also be back on tour.
