The new EP by the Berliners "Kotzreiz" is technically not an EP at all. The release for the upcoming album “Punk bleibt Punk” comes with the title track as well as two additional non-album songs. “Punk bleibt Punk” comes across as almost serious compared to the last work “Du Machst die Stadt Kaputt", but unfortunately lacks the catchy character of “Berlin" or “Bauarbeiter stürb".
The second song “Nutzlos" is already known from the “Useless-Sampler" which was distributed for free by the same fanzine back then and leans more towards the style of the predecessor album. The last song “Bier", which could also come from the Bonn band “Uschis Haarmode", who are not nearly as well-known as the Berlin shooting stars, but essentially spread nothing different. “In heaven, there’s no beer, so we drink it here - Shalalalalalala" echoes from the speakers for 1 minute.
All in all, a short, nice pastime that is meant to shorten the wait for the new album, but nothing more.
6 + 1 bonus point because I generally like the guys ;)
Released as a limited edition of 500 colored and hand-numbered 7“ vinyl and download.
