The fact is, Krawallbrüder are becoming increasingly well-known and popular at a rapid pace, filling larger and larger concert halls. I embark on a quest to uncover the reasons in my personal Krawallbrüder history. To be honest - I liked them since the first album. The song "Willst du die Wahrheit" blew me away and still does today. Well, the brothers have since moved far away from that (musically). What remains is the rough, whiny, growling voice of the singer. And a considerable range of musical skills that we get to hear on the new album. The intro sets a calm tone for the first hit that follows with "Morgen die Welt." I’m inclined to say: typical Krawallbrüder. A relatively fast-paced declaration of war, the lyrics a Fuck You to the whole world. A successful start, so let’s continue. Song number three, in my opinion, is a complete miss lyrically; I don’t know what this "Mordphantasien" crap is about, I’ve never understood it and probably never will. However, the chorus is catchy. Luckily, it’s the only (lyrical, haha) total failure. Song 4 is conciliatory. The lyrics and music go hand in hand to a first highlight of the album, essentially an anthem to scene loyalty. And then, surprisingly for me again - the brothers can also be sentimental - and convincingly so. "Der, den du heute Freund nennst" is currently my favorite track on the album, great melody and a heart-wrenching text, haach. Well, the guitar noodling in the middle of the song could have been reduced; it’s too rocky for me, but whatever. I notice that the album overall feels very homogeneous. This is a double-edged sword - on one hand, it feels like it’s all of a piece, but there’s also a certain monotony creeping in, which may be due to the similarly sounding guitars. It should be noted that Krawallbrüder consistently pursue their style and at least do not fish too obviously in the unspeakable Deutschrock waters, even though this album can certainly appeal to fans of that genre. This is mainly due to the "hard rock" element, which rules almost equally alongside "punk rock." I don’t want to dissect it song by song any further; just listen to it yourself, as it will be worth it. Overall, it remains a convincing album that doesn’t quite blow me away but certainly doesn’t disappoint either. The melodies stick in your ear after several listens; it could be a tad harder and faster. It is definitely varied. Lyrics range from melancholic to filled with hate. The Krawallbrüder are supported on the album by various scene celebrities who mingle in the background (from Kid D of the Rykers to Markus of the 7er Jungs). Oh yes, the promotional sheet clearly rejects all right-wing idiots once again. In times of increasing notoriety - and yes, probably also responsibility - I find that important and right. And: the CD comes with all the lyrics and a nice booklet. It is also available as limited special editions and of course as vinyl.
