Ninja Gun - roman noise EP
It can also be quieter, and it doesn't always have to be about cranking the tube amps to the max to be musically entertained. This is what the new EP from Ninja Gun stands for. Ambitious balladesque indie pop with a light breeze of folk.
After last year's album "Restless Rubes," we now have a 4-track EP that has the potential to usher in a warm, thoughtful spring.
With the first track "That's Not What I Heard," it starts off quietly. Fine, accentuated acoustic sounds with harmonious vocals and lyrics that provoke a bit of thought. Just right for mild spring evenings, a glass of red wine, and a good book. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but Ninja Gun knows how to please.
With "Hot Rain," it continues seamlessly in a calm manner. However, in this piece, the term band comes into play a bit more, as the electric guitar is also brought out, which has a very positive effect on the listener. A balanced rock ballad that will surely be heard more often on the radio soon.
With "Lepers in Love," you feel transported back in time. In the style of 70s rock music, a good old Hammond organ makes its appearance, showing that Ninja Gun values authenticity.
With the last piece "Roman Noise," it becomes very quiet again, a ballad sprinkled with strings that is purely acoustic. In the middle section, a beautiful guitar solo can be heard.
Overall, it is music for dreaming, for philosophizing, and simply to take a step back and let everyday life be everyday life.
