5 guys from the quaint town of Andernach are screaming their souls out. And I’ll tell you right at the beginning of the review....
What is being presented here is the optimal hardness. Since I like to write while I listen to the songs and always want to capture my first impressions on imaginary paper, the readers of this review should get a sense of what I feel while listening to the tracks. With an incredibly good morning call “Wake up,” the well-arranged and very well-produced noise begins. I think my neighbors probably dropped their coffee right away.
It continues seamlessly. “Collison” starts heavily metallic, only to end in a Wall of Death. The discerning listener is treated to a good to very good mix of old school metal passages in the instrumentation and finest mosh pit hardcore inserts.
With “Hate and Mistrust,” the guitar work taps into the punk rock vein, but without adopting any attitudes, always refreshing and cheeky. Of course, none of this is new, but it is definitely fun to listen to.
With “Leave me alone,” we are already at number 4, and it continues in the same pattern as previously described. It bangs, it gets “cored” as much as possible, but somehow it lacks that pinch of salt...the right seasoning.
It gets boring over time because all the songs up to this point are built on the same pattern. Technically perfect, produced after great US models. But the variety is missing.
It continues seamlessly until the last piece. But I have to intervene once more. “red Wine” seems to me to be just a filler, but that’s exactly what I just described. There is variety and creativity present... If this track were in the middle, I would probably have written differently here.
But as it is, it’s a metal-heavy hardcore CD. Nothing more and nothing less.
It’s fun to listen to, and I can say without a guilty conscience that even buying the CD is worth it. But it’s just nothing special.
However, you can get this record for free on Free Punk Records. And that makes it all worthwhile, because it’s definitely worth it.
