SOIFASS are back!!
Streetpunk from the high-rises of Berlin.
It has been quiet for a long time around the band with the alcohol-soaked name.
Now they are back, and not with a gentle knock on the door, but with a firm kick.
As a preview of the record, a short excerpt from Klaus Kinski, one of Germany's best actors, is played. Klaus Kinski was someone who never conformed and was always himself. Always extreme, but he lived. He did what many people only dream of and then bitterly realize at 40 that they never lived. For those who don't believe this, his autobiography "Ich brauche Liebe" is recommended.
After Kinski's speech, SOIFASS blast off.
SOIFASS have improved their sound compared to the past and refined the melodies like a prison mate at the bars that separate him from freedom.
The sound of SOIFASS is the sound of the street. It’s the sound that Toxpack and Troopers also play, but it’s different. A bit more aligned with Oi and punk than the two mentioned bands. The songs of SOIFASS are very catchy. At the forefront are the guitars. Since 2009, the band has had two guitarists, Viktor, who is also responsible for the aggressive, rough vocals, and Danilo. Two guitars are always better than one, many say. This is not always true, as one must also be able to handle it. However, Viktor and Danilo can do this, and so the guitars hit hard, blasting from the speakers. The drums are recorded very fat, and the bass hits hard in the gut. Overall, a sound that perfectly fits the music of the band from the east of Berlin. None other than Harris Johns was at the controls.
The band's lyrics typically deal with the solidarity of friends and the scene, but also with longing and dreams (here, especially the song "1994" is a good example) and the feeling of being an outsider. Of course, a song about the hated and loved city of Berlin cannot be missing. With "Stompingcrew," the band has created a great song about the capital.
With "Hypokrit," SOIFASS have created a work that is aggressive and rough, and that's exactly why it hits hard. With this album, they pose a good challenge to Toxpack, and if Troopers release something again, they will have tough competition from SOIFASS and Toxpack, although that doesn't really exist in the scene.
SOIFASS, that is streetcore, aggressive, loud, and honest.
SOIFASS are the ones who hate you!
