GOOD RIDDANCE brings a final sign of life and treat for all hunters and collectors with "Capricorn One." This album, featuring 21 tracks, is not a new album but rather a compilation of many rare songs that have only appeared on B-sides or singles, along with a few all-time favorites and six previously unreleased songs!
So there is something for everyone.
The wonderfully catchy "Stand" opens the sequence of 21 songs, showcasing the full range of GOOD RIDDANCE. Even those who have only occasionally engaged with the band will realize while listening to the record that this was a great band. It’s no coincidence that the band existed for 21 years.
While listening to the record, I probably tell myself, as many others do, that the band broke up too soon.
GOOD RIDDANCE was influential for generations of punks. They are still known to many people, as the band was not only one of the spearheads of the so-called California punk. They were also always political and socially critical, as songs like "Class War 2000" demonstrate.
"Capricorn One" is a final farewell from a formative band.
