The band has already been around for 10 years. That's quite a milestone.
The five guys used to perform under the name “Eat unda Table” but decided over time to change their name to WE ARE WOLF. We are Wolf. Indeed.
A wolf can howl, surely also scream, yelp, and above all, it is vigilant. Now, I don't want to draw a logical connection from the name to the music, but what comes vocally from the speakers in the songs sometimes has quite a bit of the essence of an angry wolf.
WE ARE WOLF call their sound Melodic Death Metal, and that fits well.
WE ARE WOLF definitely have their roots in Death Metal, which is evident in the songs and the vocals. However, it's not just mindless growling and grunting that the band offers vocally, but rather a mix of Death and Screamo.
But the band is not only high quality vocally. The music is also enjoyable. Technically, it is very solid. Breaks and melody changes with a pounding drum and two very good guitarists stand out positively on the first listen. Even on the second and third listens, “AEONS” remains enjoyable, although brief moments of boredom creep in here and there. It feels like you’ve heard that part a few minutes ago. And indeed, that is the case.
WE ARE WOLF have made a solid start with “AEONS” and are a band to watch. With a bit more melody and variety, the band could rise even further in this genre. I am curious.
