It is always astonishing what one can discover when one simply requests a CD from a band they don't know, but that sounds decent on MySpace. This happened with SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH from France.
The band has been around for quite a while. From 1988 to 1995, they went by the name SHIT HAPPENS. Since 1996, they have been known as SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH.
A band that has been making music for 22 years should have a wealth of experience and should play accordingly. By the way, in hardcore, 22 years is an eternity. This is precisely the style the band has committed to since the beginning of their existence. Hardcore. More old school than new school. Additionally, there are influences from the old days of English Oi, rock, metal, and punk. Thus, the band is much more than just a hardcore band playing their part, even if well. SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH certainly have explosive hardcore songs on this album. These tracks often charge forward brutally and impress with pressure, melody, breaks, and an ever-present, unbridled rage.
There are also songs that remind one of THE BUSINESS or DISCIPLINE.

Listening to “2 Decades Shunning Masks” is never boring. Even after multiple listens, the album with its 20 tracks is still enjoyable. And that is truly not something you can say about every hardcore band.
Let’s hope the band soon finds its way to Germany to show what they can do live.
