“Ladies and Gentlemen….” rings out during the intro of the South Tyrolean band THE PSYCHOS on their album "Blood Sweat Rock'n'Roll" through a speaker in classic boxing ring style. Blood Sweat Rock'n'Roll? Ladies and Gentlemen? Well. Almost. On “Straight Flush Ghetto” by BONES, attention is requested in the intro. But similarities cannot be denied here.+++ Here, the finest punk'n'roll is offered by the guys from South Tyrol. Of course, a comparison with the Swedish masters has to happen somehow. To put it bluntly, the guys could actually be the little brothers of the Swedes. Powerful, charged, and sassy, they play through the good 37 minutes. The singer's intonation also reminds one of the guys from Karlskrona.++++ The themes sung about are what you would expect in this genre. A hell of a lot of sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. Although, the word “Fuck” is used almost inflationarily in the songs, to the point where I almost want to shout at them that I’m sure the guys have some damn great, big, and whatever else things, that I believe they must be some damn cool guys. Posing fatale. ++++ Anyway. A solid piece that should excite anyone who has (rightfully) fallen for the genre. ++++ However, from time to time, I am annoyed by guitar parts that remind me less of rock'n'roll and more of metal riffs or playful passages from Slash of Guns'n'Roses. The guitars scream so wonderfully from time to time. Why not always? It’s nice. ++++ The thing was released by the netlabel AIRBAGPROMO and is thus available for free download for everyone.
