It’s a bit difficult for me to review this album. GLUECIFER passed me by in full force ten years ago. I guess I wasn’t mature enough for the band from Oslo back then. That has absolutely changed in recent years. This is also due to a change in my musical taste. Or should I say, my taste buds finally had the right instinct?
Be that as it may, as a farewell gift, GLUECIFER has released “B-Sides and Rarities,” a packed CD featuring many B-sides and some very rare tracks that were on records that are now sold out and only available at collector's prices. That’s a nice thing, as it saves you some euros and the early rising and digging through flea market tables.
Moreover, GLUECIFER was one of those bands that even had good B-sides, making every single a must-buy.
So here we have 17 times a fine mix of Rock’n’Roll, pig rock, and metal to enjoy. While listening, the Oslo band comes alive again in my imaginary view. They are on stage, giving it their all, sweat dripping from the ceiling, and everyone in the hall is celebrating a cool, honest Rock’n’Roll party.
There’s not much more to say about it. GLUECIFER is pure Rock’n’Roll and even on their B-sides, they have more kick-ass potential than many of the so-called “kick-ass bands” will ever have. GLUECIFER calls themselves “Kings of Rock.” They still are!
Hell Yeah!!
