At just 17 years old, Elijah hails from Graz, has won the "Local Heroes" band competition, and is considered not only the greatest hope for Austrian singer/songwriters for this reason, but also because his youth is truly not reflected in his music. Elijah has the potential to become an official, stadium-filling star. For example, one could easily imagine the title track "Free" from his EP, which was released by The/FinestNoise and consists of only three songs, being performed by the usual chart clones if it were just a bit more commercialized. Perhaps the young man is unfortunate to lack a notable chest and possess a Y chromosome, but he undeniably has charisma and the necessary pathos. Elijah sings about his feelings, and he does so not embarrassingly, but with a fruity, summery temperament. The themes revolve around infatuation and heartbreak, self-doubt. These are feelings that can be dismissed as "pubescent," but that does not diminish their sincerity and depth or their authentic musical expression. However, these three songs do have a certain innocence: they could have been packaged in a much more market-friendly way and shamelessly played on the youth bonus. The matter becomes even more endearing as the song and its melody always take center stage, rather than the prodigious singer. We are dealing with a small album from a serious, independent artist whose age cannot be held against him. Nevertheless, the young man will hardly be able to sing beyond the limits of his experience. Therefore: even if it is not explicitly wished for Elijah, one can be curious about what songs he will be capable of when he eventually wakes up in his own vomit without a house key.
