RamTatTa - ADVENTURE WILDERNESS – SOMEHOW HAPPIER

The promotional sheet mentions something about "lyrical pop." What does that mean? Are literature students trying to make music? It's a strange term. "Adventure Wilderness" presents their debut with this album. 15 songs, all sung in German, primarily deal with the cozy togetherness, desire, longing, but also with the liberation that a separation can bring. Dreaming is the second major theme of the record. Dreaming in general, about life and love. This album indeed encourages dreaming and indulging in memories, especially with a glass of red wine. It doesn't even matter that the vocals strongly remind one of Sven Regener from Element of Crime, just like the songwriting. Not perfect, but then again, it is just the debut album.
The song structure is partly inspired by Element of Crime, but enriched with their own elements. Some parts of the songs feel jam-like, while others are almost psychedelic. It's a record that fits perfectly into late summer, alone on the balcony with an open bottle of red wine. I can hardly imagine how this music will come across live. Perhaps the band doesn't even care about that. Maybe I'm just the wrong audience for it. Even though ADVENTURE WILDERNESS doesn't reinvent the wheel here, it is still enjoyable to listen to the 15 songs during a quiet moment.
