A band that may not be familiar to everyone comes here
with a properly wicked sound! Not everyone enjoys the dark
metal sound that can be calmly packed into the category of Black Metal.
This record is distributed by KETZER Records, and one can already
say that the album still carries a residual warmth from the studio, as it
was only recorded in August. The sound is relatively good and the
gentlemen know how to beat their craft well. The only thing that always
annoys me about Black Metal is the fact that you can only listen to one album,
and afterwards it just gets on your nerves. This type of singing, which is shrill
and distorted in every piece, sounds very monotonous. Well, in these 11 songs,
it's not all about the shrill vocals. The band comes from Slovakia, and you can
clearly hear that here. They incorporate a lot of local folk into their music, which
doesn't sound bad at all. From the flute that fits very well in some parts to the
very melodic guitar sections, the album is quite enjoyable to listen to. There’s no hit to bob your head to and no song to scream along with, but I don't think that's really demanded here. Not necessarily a burner ... but... see for yourself on their homepage
at www.hromovlad.com. The inlay is nicely done, and without the
lyric print, I wouldn't know that they also perform their songs in their native language!
