RamTatTa - THE DOPE – Deaf and blind but with a smile

Two people from Bavaria making indie music, can that work for me? Indie is usually too soft for my taste and it tends to annoy me quite quickly. So I approached the CD with almost no expectations. But to the question at the beginning, I can only answer yes, because what comes out of the speakers resonates with some part of me. The way they play the guitars in a breezy manner while displaying a relatively cheeky attitude really hits the spot for me today. Sure, the vocals are annoying in the first song, but afterwards catchy melodies meet quite good lyrics, and the necessary drive is also palpable. And all of this is just with vocals, guitar, and drums, without a bass that you don't even miss (well, sometimes you do, haah). Various other instruments blend in, but they fit the concept and round off the album. So I think it's quite good, and if the weather stays like today, with this annoying drizzle and dark clouds all day long, then they'll end up on my turntable more often. The booklet also contains the lyrics, which completes the package.
