Here finally is the long-awaited fifth full-length album by the band STEAKKNIFE, led by Lee Hollis, who has already brought the bands SPERMBIRDS and 2BAD into the punk rock universe. STEAKKNIFE has been around since 1991, and it looks like L. Demon is back on the guitar, bringing back the roots from back then... in my opinion, even a bit better! The album features 14 songs, and it kicks off just like that. Full of pressure and conviction, Lee Hollis splatters through his dark desert of abnormal lyrics. Yes, the comparison to JELLO BIAFRA still fits, and not just musically, as Mr. Hollis can be compared to the aforementioned not only through his books or spoken words. Well, the music doesn't really offer anything groundbreaking, but it steamrolls out of all holes and it rocks! The production of the recording is quite punky and great for cranking up... casually in the groove and then a direct punch to the face! The artwork of the booklet is also very nice. Overall, a great work that you should get your hands on. Live, the band has an incredible energy and enormous joy of playing... they prove that here and it really shows... The album comes from the Cologne label ROOKIE Records and is also available on vinyl (180g!!!), it should definitely find a place in your music shelf! Homepage
