Hmm, the cover looks like a typical metal cliché, and when you look at the long-haired guys on the promo CD, as a non-metalhead, you always have an excuse ready that prevents you from engaging with the CD. But now I've finally managed to do it. So there. I'm really not familiar with this genre. My metal knowledge only extends to Metallica, Motörhead, and bands that sing about dragon-slaying dwarves on horses in the forests of death. There are tolerable metal bands and bands that are just not good at all. Alabama Thunderpussy definitely belongs to the first category. You can listen to them without wanting to throw the CD out the window immediately. I would say they’ve also mixed a decent dose of rock into their metal songs, which makes it quite pleasant. The singer's voice is always a thing in metal. This one definitely has some balls, but he doesn't grunt like a boar. The songs are in the mid-tempo range, average about four minutes long, and are well recorded. What can I say? Not my music, but also no valid argument for not liking metal in general.
