This album is the debut of four Swedes on instruments and one Swedish woman on vocals, who have dedicated themselves to horror punk. The singer's voice has something to it. While it is quite restrained, it radiates more energy than, for example, the voice of the Annex 5 singer. The album kicks off with a song that has given me at least one earworm. Following that is a short smasher that also knows how to impress. It gets cozy in the next song, which can certainly lead to horror punks grabbing their girlfriends and spinning around in a circle tightly embraced during live performances. But then it's enough with the romance, and things pick up speed again. The melodies are catchy, and the songs are pleasantly sing-along compatible. You don't have to remember much text, as the lyrics rarely exceed eight lines. And even though at first it seems that the songs all sound a bit similar and the riffs are not the newest, it must be said that this is an absolutely worthwhile album. http://www.thespookshow.net
