THE AUTOCRATICS are a Japanese ska band that was formed in 2007 in the capital, Tokyo.
The ska scene is closely connected, and distances don’t matter. Thus, the Japanese have already played at significant ska festivals such as “This is Ska“ in Dessau-Rosslau and the “Dynamite Ska Festival“ in Leipzig.
THE AUTOCRATICS have certainly made a name for themselves in the scene.
For those who are not yet familiar with the band, “No time to waste“ offers a chance to get to know them from their best 2-Tone side. There is wonderfully danceable 2-Tone that brings a smile to your face. Along with fine melodies, often carried by the brass and keyboard section. The whole thing is garnished with a fantastic vocal performance that gives the songs the necessary character.
Stylistically, The Specials can be mentioned among others.
In songs like ”Sunset over Pink“, there is a sound that even reminds a bit of Buster Shuffle. A sugary sweet chorus perfects the song.
THE AUTOCRATICS have, without exaggeration, released a fantastic record with “No time to waste“. The band is on par with the European ska greats.
The release “No time to waste“ will be available in Europe through KOB Records, the label that has also released the latest works of Los Fastidios.
