It's good that there are still young creative punk rock bands today that do their own thing and don't care about the mainstream… Just like Fritz Theilen did, who shit in his HJ youth leader's briefcase and escaped captivity multiple times. The four from Düsseldorf and Cologne named themselves after him, and we learn something new every day; I didn't know Fritz Theilen before, he was part of the Cologne "Edelweißpiraten" who resisted the NSDAP, at least I've heard of that group.
But now to the 11 DIY songs, which are quite good in terms of sound, which is not always the case with DIY. So there's no garage sound and recorded with a cassette recorder, like we used to do back then. The songs were later mixed and mastered by professionals.
The German-language Theilen lyrics depict the present quite well, from politics and police to misogyny, weddings, and the annoying types that everyone knows, to consumerism and mobility. I especially like "Bike Punx" because I can relate to it a bit with my bike. Although I always stop at red lights, and I don't set fire to SUVs; no, you can race through the city much faster in the slipstream.
Conclusion: A good album with almost 30 minutes of playtime, although one could have done without the twelfth "remix" song, or perhaps should have.
